Development of TechniqueThe emergence of the roots of komanuri are unknown, however it is of modern style implementing the motif of a toy top. Before the Heian Period the top which was brought over from the continent, was used by boys in winter as a form of amusement. But on investigation this design only remains in the the lacquer world of Kagawa.
